Before you go
Cultural protocols
When you join us on Kubirri Warra Country, you are not simply visiting a beautiful place — you are being welcomed onto the Country of the Traditional Owners.
Our Country is living. It holds our stories, our knowledge, our plants, our animals, our waterways, our sea Country and the spirits and ancestors who came before us. Everything is connected, and we have a responsibility to care for it.
As you walk Country with us, we ask that you walk gently, listen respectfully and take only what is needed. We do not take more than the Country can give. Every plant, animal, sea creature, waterway and living thing has its place and must be treated with care and respect.
Our traditional practices are not simply something from the past. They are living traditions that we continue to practise, protect and pass on. Through our tours, we share knowledge that has been carried through generations so that our children and future generations can continue to care for Country and keep our culture strong long after we are gone.
When you join us, we invite you to immerse yourself in our culture with an open heart and a respectful mind. Be present, ask questions, listen to our stories and experience Country as we know it — with respect, responsibility and connection.
By walking with us, you become part of a journey that celebrates not only the beauty of Kubirri Warra Country, but the deep cultural responsibility we have to protect it.
Take memories with you, not more than Country can spare. Leave only your footprints, and leave Country as you found it — respected, protected and cared for.
